DarkDreamly Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how DarkDreamly (the "App", "we", "us" or "our"), available at https://darkdreamly.com, accesses, collects, uses, stores, shares, protects, retains and deletes your information, including information we receive from Google when you sign in with your Google account. DarkDreamly is an online dream journal: you write down your dreams and the App creates dream readings, an interactive dream map, insights, bedtime stories, breathing exercises and lucid dreaming plans.

1. Google user data: summary

DarkDreamly offers "Continue with Google" sign-in. When you use it, DarkDreamly requests only the following Google OAuth scopes:

openid — to confirm your identity and sign you in.
email (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email) — to read your Google account email address.
profile (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile) — to read your name and profile picture.

DarkDreamly does not request or access your Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts, Photos, YouTube or any other Google service or sensitive or restricted scope.

2. Data accessed

Google user data we access: when you sign in with Google, we access your Google account email address, your name, your profile picture URL and a unique Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.

Other data we collect:

Account data: your email address and, if you sign up with email, a password stored only as a secure one-way hash.
Dream content: dream texts, titles, dates, moods and tags you enter, and the readings, places, people, symbols, emotions and themes generated from them.
Preferences: interface language and faith perspective, stored in your browser's local storage.
Subscription data: whether your subscription is active and its renewal date. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and never reach our servers.
Technical data: server logs such as IP address, browser type and access times, used only for security and troubleshooting.

3. Data usage

How we use Google user data: we use your Google email address, name and profile picture only to create your DarkDreamly account, sign you in, identify your account, show your name in the App and link your subscription to your account. We do not use Google user data for any other purpose.

We do not use Google user data:

for advertising, retargeting or personalized ads;
to train, develop or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning models;
to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
for any purpose unrelated to providing DarkDreamly's sign-in and account features.

How we use other data: to generate your dream readings, dream map, insights, bedtime stories and lucid dreaming plans; to manage your subscription; to keep the App secure; and to answer support requests.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share Google user data with third parties, and we do not transfer it to data brokers or advertising platforms. Google user data is shared only with the infrastructure providers that host the App (our database and hosting providers), only as needed to store your account and sign you in, or if required by law.

Other data is shared only with these service providers:

xAI (Grok API): the dream text you submit is sent to generate readings, stories and plans. Your Google user data is never sent to xAI.
Stripe: your email address, to process subscription payments.
Hosting and database providers (Netlify, Supabase): to run the App and securely store account and dream data.

Humans do not read your Google user data or dreams, except with your explicit consent, when needed for security (for example investigating abuse), or to comply with the law.

5. Data storage and protection

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers operated by our database provider. We protect it with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) in transit, encryption at rest, hashed passwords, and database row-level security rules so each account can only access its own data. Your dreams are private and never shown to other users. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data, including Google user data, only for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual dreams in the App at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, including all Google user data, email xdhawk18@gmail.com from your account email; we delete it within 30 days. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Billing records may be kept by Stripe as required by law.

You can also revoke DarkDreamly's access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

7. Limited Use disclosure

DarkDreamly's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage only to keep you signed in and remember your language and faith preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict processing, by emailing xdhawk18@gmail.com. You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page.

10. Children

DarkDreamly is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be announced in the App.
